The Ares Project
          Mars Needs Women 2

A conversion of the original network map
Version 1.0

With this release I present to you the Marathon 2 version of the acclaimed Mars Needs Women, first seen with the release of the stolen Marathon Beta in August 1994. This map has been with us since the beginning (I myself logged over 30 hours of play on it with the Marathon 1 Demo), and with the release of the fourth revision of the Marathon Engine, I felt that good old Mars needed to realize its full potential. So here's the result. Ares.

It's been hacked, edited, and tested for over 19 hours. It works perfectly on all types of Macs. Lighting effects, ambient sounds, water, hanging lights- All the features the original Mars made us love, are even better than before. The level looks as damp and dark as before, with even some improvements in some areas.

I'd like to thank the men and women from IRC #marathon. They stayed with me from the beginning, from the first shouted "You're converting Mars? I LOVE YOU ENDER!", giving me their suggestions all the way. The list of things I would have done differently without them is almost as long as Steve Israelson's bug list for Pfhorte.

This is for you, guys.
